Shirley T. Baldwin, 88, of Wauchula, went home to our Lord on July 1, 2013 in Avon Park surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Paris and Lily (Lane) Workman. She married Ezra George Baldwin on July 22, 1942. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1965. Survivors to cherish her memory are children, Donald Baldwin of Edmond, OK; Velma Tomlinson of Wauchula; Betty Urey of Hellam, PA; Gladys Rhoden of Avon Park; Brenda Brenneman of Deltona and Judy Frey of Dushore, PA. She was also preceded in death by her two children Viola Baldwin and Jimmy Jay Baldwin. She is also survived by seven siblings, Verna Mullins of Melbourne; Fred Workman of Zolfo Springs; Ruben Workman of State College, PA; Laura Baldwin of York, PA; Violet Redding of Hellam, PA; Sue Redding of York, PA and George Workman of Madison, GA. She will always be known as Granny B and for her famous biscuits and gravy by her 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She had several jobs throughout her life as a housekeeper and seamstress. She attended New Baptist Church until her health would no longer allow her to do so. Funeral services will be held on July 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at New Baptist Church followed by a committal service at New Hope Cemetery with Pastor Chris Bishop officiating.
