Idelle Shackelford Sasser Jones age 90 of Zolfo Springs passed away Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. She was born July 09, 1921 in Wauchula and was a life long resident of Hardee County. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends and ministering to people that was not able to get out. Idelle was preceded in death by two beloved husbands, Luther Sasser, Sr. and Bill Jones; one son Luther Hulon Sasser, Jr., her parents Lee & Lola Davis Shackelford; six brothers Orrin, L.M., Lawrence, Rufus, Armond, Lamar Shackelford; two grand sons Michael Nicklow and Rufus Sasser. She is survived by two daughters Sylvia Nicklow and husband Nick of Zolfo Springs, Gloria Edenfield and husband Jimmy of Orlando; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00pm 8:00pm Friday, May 04, 2012 in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 404 W Palmetto Street in Wauchula. Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, May 05 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Bishop officiating and Robbie Nicklow & Marcus Shackelford speaking. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
