Murtis P. Sunday, age 79 passed away Friday, March 09, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1932 in Babson Park, FL moving to Zolfo Spring 54 years ago from DeFuniak Springs, FL. Murtis was of the Baptist faith. Murtis was a very loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with them. Murtis was a great cook; she would prepare wonderful meals for her family.She also enjoyed working in her yard gardening and growing flowers, and going to gospel sings. She is survived by one son; Charlie (Buddy) Sunday of Zolfo Springs, FL; five daughters Dorothy Sunday, Avis Sunday and Margie Sunday all of Zolfo Springs, FL Jackie Walker of Avon Park and Ruthie Garay of Zolfo Springs, FL.; one sister Lois Fay of Polk city, FL.; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis F. Sunday and parents Hillary F. and Ioda Shaw Price. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 404 W. Palmetto Street, Wauchula, FL. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the chapel with Rev. Hollis Albritton officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Zolfo Springs.
