Smokie McKinney Almeada Arlington Grimsley 85 of Wauchula passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Hardee Manor. She was born August 10, 1927 in Chicago, IL. and moved Hardee County very early in life. She was preceded in death by two husbands M.L. McKinney and James Grimsley; one daughter Patrice Gray and a step daughter Shirley Dye. Smokie is survived by two sons Jimmie Ray McKinney and his wife Marjorie of Bowling Green, Robert Rue McKinney and his wife Kathy of Arcadia; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 1pm-2pm Monday, April 8, 2013 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home located at 404 West Palmetto Street in Wauchula. Services will follow the visitation at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home with Pastor Ron York officiating. Interment will follow at Wauchula Cemetery.
