Billy Gene Ward age 80 of Wauchula passed away Friday, February 03, 2012 at home. Billy was born September 27, 1931 in Egypt Arkansas and moved to Wauchula in 1959 from Avon Park. Billy was member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing yard work. He had owned his own Land Clearing Company and also work as a Cow Hauler. He served his county honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents J.V. & Belvie Collins Ward, one brother Hershel Ward, and two sisters Lucile Cobble and Wanda Sullivan. Billy is survived by his beloved wife Blondean Yarborough Ward; two sons Cole (Erlene) Ward of Bowling Green, Blaine (Patsy) Ward of Wauchula; one daughter Melanie Nuccio of Bowling Green; three sisters Lorine Ladwig, Betty Reed, June Cravey all of Sebring; six grand children; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 3:00pm Monday, February 06, 2012 in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 404 West Palmetto Street in Wauchula. Service will follow at 3:00pm with Pastors Steve Diaz and Adam Shanks officiating. Burial will take place in Wauchula Cemetery with Military Honors being rendered by the Hardee County Veterans Honor Guard. On-line condolences maybe made at www.PongerKaysGrady.com.
