Mary Evers Tomlinson, loving mother and grandmother was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 16, 2012. She was born in Turner County, GA on January 28, 1917. She moved to Florida in 1931 where she lived in the Hardee County area, moving to Orlando, Florida in 2000. She was a member of Conway First Baptist Church in Orlando for the past twelve years. She is preceded in death by one Son, David H. Evers, Husbands Aaron G. Evers of 32 years and James M. Tomlinson of 29 years. She is survived by one Daughter, Frances Whidden Reaves and husband Cecil of Orlando, Florida. Step-Daughter, Frieda Bowen and husband Glenn of Ocala, Florida. Step-Sons, Earl Tomlinson of Winter Haven, Florida, and Orin Tomlinson of Haines City, Florida. One Sister, Mazie Ketner of Little Rock, Arkansas, and one Brother, Jack McDaniel of Hampton, Florida; three grandchildren, Mason Whidden and wife Sandi of Sebring, Michael Whidden and wife Brenda of Orlando and Janet Casselton of Colorado. Five great-grandchildren, Capt. Gary Whidden and wife Alli of Savannah, Georgia, Kristin Whidden of Sebring, Christopher Whidden of Orlando, Emma and Lara Casselton of Colorado. She is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on February 21, 2012 in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 404 West Palmetto Street in Wauchula at 11:00am with visitation 10:00 am 11:00 am with the Rev. Chuck Auschwitz of Conway First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
