Obituary

Charles Whaley age 88 passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 in Wauchula. He was born January 27, 1928 in Manatee County, moving to Wauchula in 1950. Charles served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a medic. He was a faithful member of Lake Dale Baptist Church since 1979.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Earl and Myrtice Mercer Whaley; brothers Earl Whaley, Otto Whaley, Red Whaley, Billy Whaley; sisters Agnes Washington, Annie Wingate, Geneva Shaw; granddaughter Anne Marie Young.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Kathleen Richardson Whaley; daughter Mary Ann Wilson and husband George; brother Rob Roy Whaley and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law Loleta Singletary; granddaughter Melissa Zeigler and husband Corey; grandson Charles Braxton (Brac) Wilson; great-grandchildren Wyatt Zeigler, Zachary Young, Cole Wilson, Claudia Young, Avery Wilson, Shelby Zeigler; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Lake Dale Baptist Church with service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Lake Dale Cemetery with Rev. Albert Blum officiating.
