Eddie Burrel Bailey age 62 of Wauchula passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Florida City. He was born December 2, 1950 in Elizabeth City, NC and moved to Hardee County in 1953. Eddie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and recently retired from Peace River Electric Company after working for forty-one years as a Lineman/Serviceman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Eddie was preceded in death by one son Benjamin William Bailey and his parents James Burrel & Annie Britt Bailey. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Byrd Bailey; two daughters Emily Stephens and husband Seth of Lakeland, Kimberly Davis and husband Jason of Lakeland; one sister Phyllis Walker and husband Chuck of Spruce Pine, NC; mother-in-law Pauline Byrd; and five grandchildren Justin Davis, Bailey Davis, Brady Stephens, Cale Davis, and Shelby Stephens. Visitation will be 10am-11am Saturday, January 5, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church. Services will follow the Visitation at 11:00am at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastors Chris Bishop, Jim Davis, and Grant Hignight officiating. Burial will follow in Wauchula Cemetery.
