Clarence Bolin, age 71 of Wauchula went to Heaven, Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Sebring, FL. after a more than four year courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Orangeburg, SC on October 8, 1941. He moved to Wauchula in 1956. He married Eloise Collier of Wauchula on May 26, 1962. He worked as a pipe fitter for Boilermaker Local Union. He became a floor covering installer and was a master of his craft, he owned his own retail floor covering business for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wauchula where he taught a children's Sunday School class for many years. He was a deacon and loved singing in the choir, and participated in many musicals. He also coached men's softball. He served on the Wauchula City Commission from 1992-2011. He served on the Central Florida Regional Planning Council. He was a member of Main Street Wauchula, Inc, and was the Past President of the Hardee County Players. He performed in numerous plays and constructed many sets for the performances. He had a passion for the community theater. He was the honorary chair for American Cancer Society 2010 Relay for Life and received the American Cancer Society Hardee 2010 Courage Award in recognition for courage, determination and a positive attitude in fighting cancer. He loved fishing, hunting, and sports. He was a wonderful husband and devoted father to his three children. His world revolved around his grandchildren and being in attendance and supporting them at any function they participated in. He was preceded in death by his parents Allen C & Leola Chavis Bolin , his mother-in-law Ola Murphy Collier, and one brother Benson Bolin. He is survived by his devoted, caring, and loving wife of 51 years, Eloise. One son Todd Bolin and wife Millie Carlton Bolin; two daughters Tanya Bolin Royal and husband David Royal, Megan Bolin Christian and husband Jeremy Christian, all of Wauchula. Six grandchildren Kalan and Kramer Royal, Taylor and Jacob Bolin, Lahna and Laryn Christian all of Wauchula. Three brothers, Howard Bolin, Earl (Glenda) Bolin of Wauchula and Roy (Nelwyn) Bolin of Lumpkin, Georgia. Two sisters, Delores (Lorenzo) Hutto of North, South Carolina and Gail Hines of Arcadia, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Friday, July 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home located at 404 W Palmetto Street in Wauchula. Services will be 11:00am, Saturday July 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Wauchula with Rev. Alan Permenter and Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Wauchula Cemetery.
