Guy Crites, 74, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, in Arcadia. He was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Richwood, W.Va. Guy had lived in Arcadia for the past 36 years, moving from West Virginia. He retired 11 years ago as a lieutenant with the Arcadia Police Department. Guy was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was very active in local civic groups. He was a past governor, fellow, and administrator of the Arcadia Moose Lodge 1327, a member of the Arcadia Elks Lodge, the American Legion of South Dayton, N.Y., the VFW of Gowanda, N.Y., the Peace River Masonic Lodge 66 and the Shriners. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Crites of Arcadia; brother, Elmer Crites of Coolville, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 14, 2008, with funeral ceremonies at 7 p.m., provided by the Arcadia Moose Lodge 1327, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL 34266. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mooseheart Child City and School, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539.
