Gladys Laverne Drawdy, passed away on February 1, 2023. She was born on February 5, 1939, in Alma, Georgia to Neal Peason Goolsby and Vivian Prater Goolsby. She had lived in the area for 70 years.

She was a wonderful homemaker and a caretaker for her grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of a fun and loving home.

She was a member of the Church of God and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and many family interests.

She will be fondly remembered as Mama, Grandma, and great grandma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Dale Thompson, her husband Robert Lee Drawdy, and two daughters Hazel Ann Drawdy and Lessie Louise Drawdy.

She is survived by sons, Alpha Lee Drawdy and William Rodger Drawdy both of Arcadia, Florida. Her grandchildren include Robert Lee Drawdy II, Debra Kay Drawdy, Shalina Jo Santilli, and Nathaniel Alpha Drawdy. Her great-grandchildren include Eric Barbor, Robert Drawdy III, Joshua Coffey, Jayden Santilli, Skylar Santilli, and Hailey Santilli.

There will be a visitation on February 11, 2023, from 10:00am – 11:00am in the Chapel at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, located at 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida. The service will be at 11:00am in the Chapel, with Pastor Ellis Cross officiating. Following the service, the burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery.
