George W. Moran, age 77, Arcadia, Fl. passed away, July 10, 2008 in Arcadia from a brief illness. George was born Aug. 24, 1930 in East Fairfield, Vt. George had lived in Arcadia for the past 21 years, moving here from Holland, Mass. George retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) from the U. S. Air Force. He had served during the Korean War, being awarded the Bronze Service Medal and other distinguished commendations. He was an avid reader. He also enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn well manicured. He was a devoted husband and father and grandfather. Survivors are his beloved wife, Mildred A. (Farr) Moran, Arcadia, daughter Christina A. Moran, Arcadia, a son, Patrick J. (Doreen) Moran, Westminster, Vt., a brother Bernard (Margaret) Moran, Brimfield, Ma. four grandchildren, Ashley, Tara, Michael, and Steven and a great granddaughter, Isabella. He leaves many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing. There are no services locally. Memorial services and full military honors will be conducted in Holland, Ma. at a later date.
