George Hampton Coleman, 75, of Arcadia Florida went home to his Lord on August 19th, 2020. George was born November 6th, 1944 in Ocala, Florida to the late George Yates Coleman and Noye Heirs Coleman. He resided in Chiefland Florida, being raised by his sister Mary and her husband Thomas Brookins. He moved to Arcadia Florida during 1969 and later entered into the construction business.
He was a member of the Pine Level United Methodist Church and knew his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. George worked hard and played harder, also being a member of the BPOE and Moose. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family as often as time allowed. Along with family, friends were a commonality at the Coleman home and camp locations.
George was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Mary) and a grandson Bryston Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Cheri DeLaney Coleman of Arcadia, FL; sister, Martha (Lester) Roth, Greenville, SC; brother-in-law and former guardian, Thomas Brookins (Laura) of Chiefland, FL and children: Stasie Gardner of Daphne, AL; Bradley Coleman (Angie Butts) of Fort Ogden, FL; Kaycee (Curt) Mays of Arcadia, FL; Staci (Donald) DeLuca of Arcadia, FL and Keri (Dave) Wharton of Punta Gorda, FL. His legacy also includes beloved grandchildren Mackenzie Wooten, Jesse Wharton, April Wharton, Steven Mays, Kassidy DeLuca, George Mays, Gwendolyn "Faith" Brown, Joel Mays, Joeb Mays, Kamren DeLuca, Braden DeLuca, Jayse DeLuca and Garett Wharton. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
The family of George Hampton Coleman, invite friends and loved ones for a memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020, at the Horse Creek Camp [8491 FL-64] in Ona, Florida. The service will be officiated by Elder Charles C. Jackson. The family invites relatives and friends to stay after the service, for fellowship and the sharing in the memory of George.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Tidewell Hospice, in the memory of George Hampton Coleman.
