Mr. Francis Mackie, age 64, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.
He had lived in the area for thirty years. He was a cook and worked at G. Pierce Wood Hospital and then DJJ facilities.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He loved fixing things such as lawnmowers, and also to DJ the music at events.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Mackie and many children as well as brothers and sisters. His children are, Sherry-Ann Cisneros Rotey of Barbados, Damian Francis Etienne of Barbados, Carilqua Jordan of Pennsylvania, Shonda Jackson of Bradenton, Florida, James Washington of North Port, Florida, Tanesha Polk of Arcadia, Florida, and Antonio Washington of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. His brothers and sisters include, Margarel Auguste of Barbados, Patrick Auguste of Barbados, Nadine Cook, of Orlando, Florida, Spencer Young of Orlando, Florida, Teresa Richardson of Bradenton, Florida, Leamon Combs Jr. of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Yvongula Campbell of Arcadia, Florida.
He had 16 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. His grandchildren and great grandchildren are Lija Cisneros, Kenza Etienne, Maurice Hartman, Malachi Hartman, Jamese Washington, Jayla Washington, Victacia Blandin, Thishoma Riley/Claudi Guzman, Legacy Polk, Chance Polk, Larry Gatlin, Shatelyia Grace, Emarje Grace, Harold McKeever, and Kiaeran Washington. His great grandchildren are Zayven Guzman, Zy'Hire Aktin and Karter Washington.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Anisthasie and Oliver Auguste of Barbados.
There will be a visitation at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the House of God Church, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM. The church is located at 200 South Alabama Avenue, Arcadia, FL 34266. Pastor Thelma Guice will be officiating the service.
