Francis George Boehm, age 90, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 in Arcadia, FL. Francis was born October 5, 1920 in New York, New York. Francis was retired from Belcher Oil Company where he was a Tug Boat Captain. His job was to tow the tankers through the channels in and out of the harbors. He served his country as a Merchant Marine during World War II he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Francis was a graduate of the Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy Class of 1941 , Kings Point, New York. Francis is survived by his beloved wife , Marietta Boehm, Arcadia, five sons; Joseph (Catalina) Boehm, Christopher (Beatrice) Boehm, Thomas (Amy) Boehm, James Boehm all of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Peter (Melinda) Boehm of Arcadia, FL, five daughters; Lois (Imad) Sibai, Holmes, Syria, Cathleen (Michael) Gaston, Arlington, VA, Nancy (Curtis) Benson, Sylva, NC, Diane (Howard) Alter, Egg harbor, NJ, and Angela (Jesus) Hernandez, Lakeland, FL. Twenty-five grandchildren; Angela, Matthew, Bedure, David, Dianna, Brian, Victoria, Jessica, Cynthia, Jarred, Joseph Jr., Michael, Christopher, Melanie, Natalie, Michelle, Jeremy, Damien, Chandler, Chloe, Ashley, Brittany, James Jr., Brandon, and Marc. There are nine great grandchildren. Francis is preceded in death by two sons Russell and Matthew. Graveside services and burial will be at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Miami, FL at 1:45PM, Monday, November 22, 2010.
