Frances L. Christian, age 73, passed away July 29, 2011 in Sarasota, FL. Frances was born July 10, 1938 in Arab, AL. Frances moved to Gadsden, AL after her retirement, returning to Arcadia 15 years ago. She Retired from G. Pearce Wood Memorial Hospital as a certified nurse s assistant. Frances was described by her children as a Great Mom and caregiver. She loved to listen to gospel music. Frances loved taking walks with her dog Diamond . Frances was loved very much by everyone and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Frances is survived by her sons; Paul A. (Brenda) Christian, Gadsden, AL and Diamond Christian, Arcadia, FL, three daughters: Anita (Gerald) Tomlinson, and Janice S. Brown, both Arcadia, FL, and Lorri S. (Billy) Jones, Gadsden, AL, three brothers and two sisters, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Arie A. Christian, two sons, Stanley T. and Randy L. Christian, and her parents; Jessie and Bessie Thompson Freeman. Visitation will be conducted from 2:00PM until 4:00PM. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 4:00PM from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ellis Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
