Mr. Floyd Jesse Carter, aged 91, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023. He was born in Sycamore, Georgia on August 13, 1931 to L. Cecil Carter and Ethel Hopkins Carter, but lived most of his life in Arcadia, Florida.

Floyd worked in real estate, was a mechanic for 15 years for Pan American Air and became a business owner. As a Korean-era veteran, Floyd also served four years in the US Navy and achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by daughter, Dr. Janet Carter and son-in-law Dr. Matthew Allen, residing in Redding, California and a brother Ronnie L. Carter of Bonaire, Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nelly E. Perez Carter, of Redding, California, parents, L. Cecil Carter and Ethel Hopkins Carter and two brothers, Maxie H. Carter of Arcadia, Florida and L.C. Carter Jr.

His service will be on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 4:00PM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes Arcadia, Pastor Ellis Cross will be officiating.

He will be buried Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, Florida.
