Evelyn B. Budd, age 82, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 in Bradenton, Fl. She was born on October 29, 1926 in Arcadia, Fl. A lifetime resident moving to Bradenton, Fl. in the early 80 s to be near her daughter and family. She was of the Methodist faith. As a 1944 graduate of DeSoto High School, she purchased a small ranch-farm in north Arcadia, Fl., in 1949, growing citrus, cattle and chickens. She also worked for G.P. Wood Hospital in the 70 s as her daughter, Doris was in high school. In the 90 s she was a member of the Mustang Club of West Central Florida, Bradenton, owning her own 1969 red Ford Mustang. Evelyn s independence and leadership skills were to be admired, as president of her senior citizen, condo association and activities director. She was survived by two sisters, Annie Laurie Lynn of Altoona, Fl. and Grace Roberts of Tampa, Fl., son in law Manuel Lamela of Bradenton, Fl. and one grand daughter, Jessica Lamela of Bradenton, Fl. She is preceded in death by daughter Doris Faye Lamela, parents Joseph and Lena Burtscher, two brothers Fred and Joe Burtscher, three sisters, Hilda Bethel, Dorothy Sawyer and Alma Parda. She was admired and loved by her family and friends. A family memorial celebration service will be held later.
