Eugene W. Buddy Brannan, age 59, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. in Arcadia. Buddy was born in Arcadia March 6, 1950. He was a graduate of DeSoto High School, Class of 1969. Buddy was a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the U. S. Army, having received a Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device for service and devotion to his country. He was a member of the Vietnam Brotherhood, Echo Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Buddy is survived by his devoted wife Gwen Brannan, Arcadia, his parents; Eugene W. Brannan, Jr. and Billie Ann Wright Brannan both of Arcadia, a brother James Murray (Leslie) Brannan, Arcadia, Fl. and a sister Eugenia Ann Mercer, Florida. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00AM at Joshua Creek Cemetery. The DeSoto Co. Honor Guard and the Vietnam Brotherhood, Echo Co. will render military honors at the graveside.
