Ernestine Lee Crites age 94, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023. She was born on November 20, 1928 to Holbert and Inez Boggs Chapman in Richwood, West Virginia.

She had lived in this area for 44 years, was a home maker and volunteered at DeSoto Memorial Hospital. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a caring and beautiful person.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. She enjoyed reading her bible as well as gardening, planting seeds for flowers, coloring, shopping at Walmart and watching John Wayne movies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vane Crites, her parents Holbert and Inez Chapman, a brother Jim Chapman, sons Michael, Timmy and Roy Crites, a daughter Janice Crites, and granddaughter Trista McLucas.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Taylor and Randy Crites of Arcadia, Florida and daughter Sharon Suggs of Bradenton, Florida, and her sister Ann Fitzwater of Richwood, West Virginia. There are also eleven grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren, two nieces and one nephew that will miss her.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 3:00pm at Joshua Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ellis Cross officiating.
