Elmer Wayne Wood III

Elmer Wayne Wood III (Woody) 88 of Arcadia, FL passed peacefully on October 18, 2026, at home. Born on December 19, 1937, in Bellaire, OH, to the late Elmer Wayne II and Daisy (Kennedy) Wood. A graduated of Howland High School in 1955, then serviced in the Marines with high marksmanship. He lived his life unapologetic and to the fullest. Enjoying playing cornhole, horseshoes, attending car shows, and watching NASCAR and other sporting events. Above all, he was a beloved father and grandfather, affectionately known as “Pap.” He was genuinely friendly to everyone he met, never hesitating to share a smile with his wonderful personality, great sense of humor, and warm heart, he had a special way of making those around him feel welcome. He will be fondly remembered for his laughter, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Marla (Jeff) Lisbon and Shane (Stacy) Wood; Brother: Robert (Judy) Wood; Grandchildren: Elmer W. Wood V., Victoria Lisbon, and Eric Wood, along with many extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son: Elmer Wood IV; Sister: JoAnn Shaffer, and granddaughter: Brittany Wood
