Elizabeth Edwards, age 94, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Arcadia. She was born September 16, 1915 in Dickenson County, VA and moved to Arcadia 37 years ago from Omaha, NE. Elizabeth was of the Protestant faith and a member of First Christian Church of Arcadia. Elizabeth was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family very much. She enjoyed working crossword and other puzzle games; this was her way of keeping her mind active. Elizabeth also loved spending time in her yard; she always had a beautifully landscape home. She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Ann (Richard) Miller of North Port, FL.; one grandson, Shane (Mary) Edwards of Omaha, NE; two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Jennings and Elsie Southerland Counts and a son; Robert G. Edwards. A visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:30AM at the First Christian Church, 34 Verano Ave., Arcadia with Rev. Ron York officiating. Interment will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
