Elizabeth Chaney, age 87, of Palmetto, Fl., passed away Thursday October 23, 2008 in Homestead, Fl. She was born April 20, 1921 in Venus, Fl. and has lived in the surrounding area her entire life. She was a member of the Venus Church of God and attended the Church of God Church in LaBelle, Fl. Elizabeth will be remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Elizabeth is survived by two sons, John (Lucille)Chaney of Bradenton, Fl. and Lonnie(Anne)Chaney of Key Largo, Fl., one daughter Barbara Rimes of Troy, AL., two sisters Irene Price of Venus, Fl. and Hazel Jones of LaBelle, Fl. ten grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lee Chaney and son Aaron H. Chaney. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Monday October 27, 2008 at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday October 28, 2008 at Congregation of Jesus Cristo (formally Venus Church of God) in Venus, Fl. Burial will follow at Venus Community Cemetery, Venus, Fl.
