Edwin Rackeweg
Iii
July 14, 1983 – August 3, 2023
Edwin Christopher Rackeweg, III sadly passed away on August 3, 2023 at the age of 40.
We are all devastated by this huge loss, and he will be forever missed. He was born with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold, a big smile for everyone he met and was always a joy to be around.
Being born in Arcadia, Florida, he attended DeSoto County High School and was a jack of all trades. There wasn't a friend or family member that didn't know they could call him, and he would come running to help fix anything.
Likewise, Eddie was a big fan of anything outdoors; camping, fishing, and canoeing with family and friends. He always had a great time hanging out with, and pestering those he loved the most. He had an infectious sense of humor and loved to laugh. One of his favorite past times was to take a ride with his dad to 'check out the river.'
He will always be remembered with much love by his heartbroken parents, Edwin Rackeweg, Jr and Thelma Mattison, his beloved daughter, Fayth, his sister, Ashley Mattison Morgret (Chris), his grandparents, aunts and uncles, step siblings, numerous nephews and nieces, as well as his many close friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin Rackeweg, Sr. and Doris Rackeweg as well as his Stepmother, Louise Rackeweg.
We can all find solace in knowing he's been reunited with the family that went before him. What a joyous reunion it must have been for them all.
