Edward "Eddie"
Lee Davis
October 6, 1957 – February 23, 2026
Edward (Eddie) Lee Davis, 68, of Arcadia, Florida passed away in his home in the early morning hours of February 23rd, 2026, in Arcadia, Florida, next to his loving wife. He was born on October 6, 1957.
Eddie graduated from DeSoto County High School in 1975, shortly after graduating he began his long-term career in construction. He married the love of his life, Carol (Muse) Davis on May 31st, 1980, and had their only child Carolyn (Davis) Madden Triay in December of 1982. Anyone who was around Eddie and Carol could see that the two of them were meant to be together. They showed a kind of love for one another that many could only dream of.
Eddie loved to spend his free time on the water, fishing with his brother, nephews, grandson and friends. He never met a stranger; his heart was as vast as the lakes he loved to fish in. His passion for fishing preceded him, leaving behind decades of time on the water with many "big fish" stories. He was never too busy to help a friend or family member, finding joy in being able to help fix a car, work on a boat motor, or use his construction skills. He will be remembered not just for what he built, but for the way he cared for people. He was strong in so many ways, including in the way he loved his wife, daughter, grandchildren, nephews, and his close family and friends. Eddie never met a stranger and always had plenty of laughter and stories to tell to keep a smile on anyone's face. Eddie was deeply loved by his family and respected by all who knew him.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol, and their daughter Carolyn (Oliver) Madden Triay; two grandchildren Riley Madden and Kyree Madden; two siblings, John (Johnny) Wayne Davis and Donna (Davis) Skrivan; three nephews that he considered to be more like his own sons, Stephen (Shell) Davis, Charles (Nina) Bennett, and John Davis. He is preceded in death by his mother Lila (Velma) Davis and Wayne (Leroy) Davis.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on February 27th, 2026, at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Homes. Viewing will begin at 2:00PM with funeral service to follow at 3:00PM. Graveside service immediately afterwards at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be held at Arcadia Orioles at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 28th. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations of fishing poles for the youth.
Eddie's kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building not just structures, but relationships and memories that will stand the test of time.
