Edward Ed James Corcoran, 63, of Arcadia, FL passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009. He was born February 5, 1946 in Cambridge, MA. Ed served in both the Marines and the Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He left the Army in 1982 to pursue other interests. After moving to Arcadia, in 1992, he worked for Peace River Citrus and retired from there last year. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and friends. He was a member of both the Eagles and the Amvets, and was an officer of the Moose Lodge. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Sheila L of Arcadia, FL; his adopted mother Helen Sullivan Kelley of Bedford, MA; and his parents Edward and Ruth Corcoran of Cambridge, MA. He is survived by his daughter Kelly (Justin) Tanner of Arcadia, FL; his son Edward Bill Corcoran of Sarasota, FL; his adopted father James Jim Kelley of Bedford, MA; his brother Kevin (Kathy) Corcoran of Billerica, MA; his brother Jim (Heather) Kelley of Lowell, MA; his sister Kathleen (Robert) Shur of Nashua, NH; he has five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ed s life will be held from 6-8PM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. with the Arcadia Moose Lodge rendering honors at 7:00PM to Ed for his loyal and dedicated service.
