Edward Howard Ruth, age 90 passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born in Taylorville, Illinois on August 7, 1931, to the late Alex S. & K. Gertrude Ruth, his family relocated to Florida in the mid 1940's. Edward was a resident of Limestone for twenty-two years and recently relocated to Lakeland, FL. He graduated from Fort Myers High School. After his service in the U S Navy he started employment with Publix Super Markets where he retired as V.P. Human Resources after 46 years.

His family will remember him as a man of gentle strength. A Christian man, strong in his beliefs and relationships with the Lord and strong in his faith convictions. A man devoted to his loving wife. A man who was proud of his children and family. A man whose life ethics were second to none. A man who never knew a stranger. A man whose laugh was infectious. A man who taught his children about life and love.

He was a member of Limestone Baptist Church. Edward was the past President of following organizations, Kiwanis Club and Salvation Army and Boy's Club. Edward enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and football games.

He is Survived by Spouse - Barbara Jene (Mosley) Ruth, Son - Rick (Dawn) Ruth of Lakeland, Florida, Daughter - Sherri Ruth of Lakeland, Florida, Sisters - Doris Wollam of Austin Texas and Trudy Baker of Naples, Florida,
He is Preceded in Death by Son Michael D. Ruth and Sister Jean Garlin.

A visitation of family and friends will be Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 205 N. 9th Ave., Wauchula, FL. 33873. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00a.m. at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wauchula City Cemetery.
