Edna L. Monahan, age 82, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Englewood, Fl. She was born August 29, 1926 in Bradford County, PA. She moved to Fort Ogden, Fl. 31 years ago from Wysox, PA. Edna was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Fort Ogden United Methodist Church. Edna was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Women s Group, loved singing in the choir at church, enjoyed gardening in her yard and traveling to new places. Edna is survived by two sons, Kevin F. (Bonnie) Monahan of Fort Ogden, Fl. and Elwyn C. (Bonnie) Monahan of Monroeton,PA. a daughter, Glenda L. Emigh of Birmingham, AL, one brother, Donald (Frances) Shaffer of Towanda, PA, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlyle M. Monahan, her parents Jessie and Lida Steele Shaffer, a brother, Robert Shaffer and sister Gladys Wright A Memorial Service and Celebration of Edna s life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:00AM at the Fort Ogden United Methodist Church.
