Edna E. Dees, age 92 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born on December 8, 1930 in Fort Ogden, FL. to the late Albert V. and Minnie E. Grantham Barnwell. Edna was a lifetime resident and member of Fort Ogden Community Church, formally known as Fort Ogden United Methodist Church.

Edna was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Cooking meals and seeing to everyone's needs was her favorite thing in life. She retired from the State of Florida as the property manager with G. Pierce Woods.

She is survived by her four children, Richard (Patricia A.) Dees of Punta Gorda, FL. and daughters Kathy D. Carlton, Sandra D. (Jessie) Ritch and Vickie D. (Ronnie) Mercer all of Arcadia. Twelve grandchildren; Jody Mosley, Justin Carlton, Dalton Carlton, Leslie Roe, Lewis Ritch, Jana Putnal, Renee McCall, Aimee Keller, Amber Taylor, Jennifer Baxter, Brandi Ertle and Brandon Mercer. Thirty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son in law Kenny Carlton, brother Earl Barnwell, great granddaughter Amber Ruiz and great-great granddaughter Serenity Hines.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 10:00am at Fort Ogden Community Church, 6923 SW River St., Arcadia, FL. Burial will follow at Fort Ogden Cemetery, Arcadia, FL.
