Edgar Velazquez Gonzalez, 20, of Arcadia, Florida passed away April 5, 2021. He was born April 7, 2000, in Jalpan, Mexico, and moved to this area as an infant. He was a 2018 graduate of the DeSoto County High School, was working at Publix as he was pursuing a degree in computer engineering. He was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church.

Edgar loved spending time with his family and friends, reading, listening to music, collecting shoes, watching online, playing video games, and going out to eat. He was a sweet, kind-hearted person with a gentle and humble soul who always put others first. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Karina Lopez; siblings, Brian Velazquez and Emily Velazquez; parents, Antonio Velazquez Espino and Fedelina Gonzalez; extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Eusebio Gonzalez and grandmother, Tiburcia Espino.

The Visitation will be from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, Friday April 9, 2021 at the Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave, Arcadia, FL 34266. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at St Paul's Catholic Church in Arcadia with burial to follow in Joshua Creek Cemetery.
