Duane P.
Norris
February 9, 1932 – October 19, 2021
Duane Patrick Norris, 89, of Lakeland, FL went home to be with the LORD on October 19, 2021. He passed peacefully at his home. He was born February 9, 1932, in Lily, FL.
He lived in Arcadia, FL for 53 years before moving to Lakeland to be near his daughters.
Duane attended Hardee High School in Wauchula, FL, and was the star quarterback during his time there. Upon graduation, Duane enlisted in the United States Air Force where his duties took him all over the world during his 4 years of service as a flight engineer.
Duane began a farming and citrus business after his time in the Air Force. With his hard work and determination, he branched out into citrus hauling, caretaking, and eventually owning multiple Orange Groves. Over a 57-year period, he grew his citrus business into a lifetime legacy that lives on today.
He was a member of Pine Level Methodist Church in Arcadia during the years he lived there and was a devout Christian.
His hobbies and interest included golf, fishing, gardening, and tending his citrus groves.
His family will remember him as an extremely loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We will always remember that he never missed an opportunity to attend an event, even when he had to drive 60 miles to be there to show his support. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren beyond measure and loved having nicknames for each of us. He was a loving Brother, Uncle, and Friend as well.
He is survived by his 3 children Ed (Barbara) Norris of Arcadia, FL, Amanda (Kevin) Wolfe and Maris (Chris) Clark both of Lakeland, FL, 6 Grandchildren - Becky (Bryan) Scholten, Kelly (Luke) Jones, Patrick Norris, Chase Norris, Marisa Clark, and Mariah Clark, 5 Great-Grandchildren - Kaitlyn Wolfe, Ty Scholten, Jameson Jones, Ava Jones, and Declan Jones. 3 stepchildren Stephanie (William) McAnly, Laren (Ed) Dubin, John (Ronda) Harmon, 7 step grandchildren Kirsten (Barry) Flanik, Dana (Steve) Rondeau, Larry "Chip" (Tara) Furr, Will Harmon, Dr. Jamie McAnly Savannah Aaron and Hayley Harmon.
