Dorothy H. Blount, age 82, passed away Monday night November 27, 2023 in Sarasota, Florida.  She was born May 24, 1941 in Arcadia, Florida to James B Hutchinson Sr., and Bertha Louise Manning.

Dorothy graduated from Desoto County High School, class of 1960. She loved flowers and she especially loved yellow flowers, as well as gardening and cake decorating. Dorothy was proud of being a mother, with many friends, and became a Christian of the Pentecostal faith. She was employed at the State Hospital, GPW for 26 years as a CNA.
Her family will remember her as a kind and gentle person, with the thought of loving thy neighbor as myself.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Crystal Blount of North Port, Florida, stepson Brad Jacobs of New Richmond, Ohio, sister Sandra Loy of Metter, Georgia, niece Vicky Baxter of Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The Visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM, in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes & Cremation Services at 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM, with Pastor Daniel Dagan officiating. Burial to follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
