On November 14 2021 Dora Emily "Penny" McManus at 92 years of age, passed away peacefully at the Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte. Born on December 15, 1928 to Chester & Dora Ray in Washington DC, Penny was blessed and grew up with Mary Elizabeth and Mildred "Kitty". She was married in 1948 to the love of her life, Jack W. McManus. Jack and Penny had three daughters, Victoria, Christine and Colleen.

Penny was an independent and hard working woman, retiring from Pan American Airlines in Miami, Florida. She was a gifted seamstress who took great pride in making her daughters clothes and even wedding gowns. She was also quite the artist, creating many beautiful paintings throughout the years. One of her greatest treasures was her home, taking so much pride in it. Known and loved by so many in the community as simply "Grandma Penny", she spent most of her remaining years in Arcadia, Florida were she loved visiting with everyone.

Penny's family was the love and passion of her life she is survived by her sister Mary Elizabeth Barnard, her two living devoted daughters, Colleen McManus Martin and Chris McManus Woods. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kevin Swartz, Koren Swartz Holmes, Jeremy Hogeland, Derek Hogeland, Kelly Martin Markey, Sheri Martin Bohannan. She was blessed to also be survived by eight great grandchildren; Peyton Swartz, Brevan Swartz, Joshua Yost, Derek Hogeland, Zoe Hogeland, Kalyn Markey, Megan Markey, Crew Bohannan, Ramsey Bohannan and Hadley Bohannan. Penny is predeceased by her sister Mildred "Kitty" Smith her husband Jack W McManus and her eldest daughter Victoria McManus.

Penny requested no public services be held, the family will celebrate her memory together privately.
