Donna May Stanton, 89, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Born on May 2, 1937, in Petroleum, Indiana to the late Jesse and Ora Sawyer Nubaumer. Donna’s life was a testament to love shared and memories made. A woman of deep faith and active ministry, Donna found purpose in serving others. She was an integral part of her church community, offering compassion and support through her acts of service. Her life was guided by a generosity that uplifted not only her family but all who knew her. Donna's creativity and caring spirit were evident in everything she did. She found happiness in baking for those she loved, tending to her garden, and sewing thoughtful gifts that reflected her generous heart. A gifted wood carver, Donna transformed simple pieces of wood into beautiful works of art, showcasing her patience, skill, and creativity. She also treasured traveling with her husband, enjoying new experiences and making lasting memories by each other's side.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Byron "Ted" Stanton, with whom she shared countless adventures, travels, and deep companionship. Their union was a remarkable partnership woven with affection, faith, and mutual support. Donna’s legacy continues through her beloved children: her daughter Dixie (Ron) Hudson and sons Byron "Mike" (Lori) Stanton and Jeffery (Diana) Stanton; Grandchildren: Lauren Sherk, Elizabeth Rebstad Strohm, Mindy Stanton, and Shannon Jacobs; Great-grandchildren, Jack Sherk, James Sherk, Lottie Sherk, Winrey Jacobs, and Ian Garza. Each carries forward the lessons of kindness, resilience, and joy learned from Donna.
Family and friends are invited to honor Donna’s memory at the viewing on Thursday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Arcadia First Church of the Nazarene, located at 132 West Gibson Street, Arcadia, FL 34266. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for those who loved Donna to gather in celebration of her life and faith.
Donna May Stanton’s presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering love for her family, devotion to her faith, and the beauty she created in everyday moments will be cherished and remembered always.
