Donald R McCormick, 86, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, in Arcadia with his daughters by his side. He was born on
December 23, 1939, in Altha, Florida to Daniel McCormick and Pansy McCormick. At the age of 18, Donald enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Europe. Donald shared many memories of his time while there one being when he walked to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Donald always believed education was important. In 1993, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from Florida Southern College. Donald worked for the City of Arcadia for 24 years, retiring as a Water Treatment Supervisor. He was a sports fan especially enjoyed watching the Florida Gators play football and basketball. In 1976 he attended the Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada along with his brother-in-law. He & his wife Carissa loved the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains and took many trips creating wonderful memories with their daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Brantley, Robin (Dale) Scott all of Arcadia. His grandchildren Aspen Brantley, Harlee Scott, Donald
Brantley III and Andrew Scott, all residing in Arcadia. His brother, Freddie McCormick, Altha, FL, Sisters, Shirley Young, Jennifer Mears, Pam (James) Kahle, Bonnie (Mark) Hall and Emily (Michael) Lytle all from Altha, FL and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carissa Bell McCormick, his parents, Daniel McCormick and Pansy McCormick, his brothers, Rocky
Vickery and Waymon McCormick and his sisters, Geraldine Kelley, Jean Murphy, Margaret Barfield and Debbie McCormick.
Our father was an honest man who loved his family with all his heart and always stood up for what he believed was the right thing to do. He will
be greatly missed by his family.
