Obituary

Donald Arthur Dupuis, Sr., age 71, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Sarasota, FL. He was born November 4, 1938 in Hanover, NH and was a member of our community for the past 36 years. Donald was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. He served as a Deacon and worked with the Sunday school. Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years, Donald enjoyed swamp buggy racing in Naples on Big Mac , hunting, fishing, taking cruises and trips to Disney World. Donald served our country with the U.S. Coast Guard. During his working career he was a foreman in the cattle and grove industry.He also worked in the test department at Central Maloney Transformer in construction. He is survived by his wife Diane Dupuis of Arcadia, FL. two sons; Donald A. (Colette) Dupuis, Jr. and David A. Dupuis, both of Arcadia, FL.; one daughter Deborah A. (Kevin) Ordway of Brandon, FL.; one sister Patricia (Roger) Franks of Pekin, IL; ten grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Arthur C. and Hilda A. Grunwell Dupuis. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:00AM at the chapel with Rev. Richard Englert of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors by the U.S. Coast Guard at Sarasota National Cemetery.
