Don Southwell age 76, passed away Wednesday January 17, 2024 in Arcadia, Florida. He was born in Arcadia, Florida on January 26, 1947 to Frank and Ada Ruth Southwell. He was a lifelong resident of Desoto County. Graduating from Desoto High School Class of 1965.

He enjoyed being outside, camping, fishing, cutting swamp cabbage and sitting by a fire. In the past several years, you could find him putting together puzzles or watching old westerns. He was a member of Trinity Methodist in Arcadia.

Don is survived by his loving wife Raye Southwell and children Amanda (James) Miller of Atlanta, Georgia, and Donald (Melissa) Southwell of Englewood, Florida. Brothers Arthur (Deana) Southwell and Bill (Linda) Southwell of Arcadia, Florida, brother-in-law Tom Murphy and sister-in-law Jill Southwell of Wauchula, Florida. Four grandchildren Summer Southwell, Sawyer Southwell, Austin Miller, and Kyle Miller. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ada Ruth Southwell, and brother Jerry Southwell and sister Connie Murphy.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia from 6pm-8pm. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 3, 2024 at Trinity Methodist Church in Arcadia, at 11am.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Trinity Methodist Church in Arcadia, and/or Desoto County Education Foundation and/or Pregnancy Solutions of Arcadia, 209 W. Oak Street Arcadia, Florida.
