Thomas H. Waldron, Jr., age 84, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born February 1, 1928 in Arcadia, FL and a lifetime resident. Thomas was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Arcadia and very active with many aspects of his church. He received the Centennial Heritage Award for his lifetime of service to the Church. He was voted the Young Adult of the Year for Florida by Church of Nazarene. He was a member of Gideon s International. During Tom s working years he owned and operated Dry Cleaners in Arcadia and Punta Gorda. He worked in insurance for Liberty National and was a Correctional Officers at the Dept of Corrections, State of Florida. Thomas also serviced in the National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Daisy Nelson Waldron of Arcadia, FL.; one son Ronald Waldron of Arcadia, FL.; one daughter Kathryn (Terry) McNeely of Sandersville, GA; two brothers Gerald (Joann) Waldron of Wauchula, FL. and Calvin Waldron of Yelm, WA.; one sister Betty (Larry) Cain of Bulls Gap, TN; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Hugh and Gladys Gay Waldron, Sr. and sister Caroline Waldron Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 132 W. Gibson St., Arcadia with Rev. Mick Orr, Rev. Ray Hines and Rev. Howard Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Thomas name are made to Church of the Nazarene.
