Obituary

Hayward Simpson, age 75, Arcadia, FL, passed away January 1, 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL. Hayward was born August 18, 1936 in Avon Park, FL. He moved to Arcadia over forty years. Hayward retired from the FL Department of Transportation, where he worked as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the American Legion Post K11, and the D.A.V Chapter 111, Arcadia, FL. Hayward was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan who enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Nocatee Church of God. Survivors are his sons, Steve (Shirley) Adcock, Arcadia, FL, Douglas (Angel) Adcock, Venice, FL, Lawrence (Vicky) Adcock, Wauchula, FL, and Billy (Stephanie) Adcock, Inverness, FL, a daughter, Kathryn Perry, Arcadia, FL, and a sister, Myrtice Leininger, Archibald, Ohio. He has twenty-three grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Hayward is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Saydeth Sadie Simpson in 2006, his parents, Johnny and Ruby Simpson, two brothers, Glen Simpson and M. L. Simpson, and a sister, Dot Holland. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Thursday evening, January 5, 2012 at Ponger-Kays-Grady chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral Services will be at 10:00AM, Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home, with the DeSoto Honor Guard to render military honors at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
