Leona S. Nauta, age 96, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 in Arcadia, FL. Leona was born October 18, 1916 in Key West, FL. She had been living in DeSoto County for the past 64 years, moving from Key West, FL. Leona retired as a secretary for the DeSoto County School Board. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcadia, FL. Survivors ar her two children, Randy (Mona) Sturrup, Arcadia, FL, Linda Collier, Orange Park, FL, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Leona is preceded in death by her parents, Urban B. and Myrtice V. Lowe Bethel , and two brothers Charles U. Bethel and Harry U. Bethel. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Friday, September 27, 2013, at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Jim Wade officating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
