Robert L. "R.L." Dyal, 78, of Arcadia, FL passed away May 22, 2013 after a short, yet courageous battle with MDS. R.L. was born December 19, 1934 in Arcadia, FL and was a lifelong resident of Desoto County. He attended Desoto High School and married the love of his life, Carrie Altman in 1958 at the Nocatee Baptist Church. He managed Winn Dixie in Arcadia for a short time before taking a career path in the agriculture industry. R.L. oversaw citrus groves in 8 counties over a period of 52 years. R.L. was a hard working, family man who treasured family vacations traveling to the mountains of the Carolina's and Tennessee, fishing, camping, hunting and gardening. He enjoyed each holiday surrounded by his entire family. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. R.L. is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carrie Dyal, of Arcadia, son, Robert L. "Robbie" Dyal and fianc , Melanie Bozarth, of Arcadia, daughter Carole Dyal-Worth and husband, Chris, of Arcadia, brother; James and wife Barbara Dyal, Arcadia, FL, grandchildren; Krystal (David) Morr, Shawn Sours, Danielle (Jim) Danford, Robert (Kaylee) Dyal, III, and 6 greatgrandchildren with another grandson on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Grace McMillan Dyal, sister, Margaret Morgan and brother, Elton "Pete" Dyal. Visiting hours will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ellis Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
