Raymond A. Allen, Jr., 78, of Arcadia, Florida passed away May 24, 2013. He was born April 21, 1935 in Lake Placid, Florida and moved to Arcadia 55 years ago from Sarasota. During his working years he was employed as a truckdriver, construction and masonry laborer. Raymond was a man with many jokes and loved the company of his wife and family. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Linda Hunt Allen, of Arcadia, sons, Raymond (June) Allen, III, of Myakka City, FL, Gary (Jane) Allen, of Englewood, FL, daughters, Diana Allen (Keith Billings), of Labelle, FL, Rexanna (Richard) Smith, of Bradenton, FL, sister, Madeline Crawford, of Lake Placid, FL, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond and Frances Cobbs Allen, Sr., brother, Bud Cobbs, sisters; Toby Marchbank, Annabelle Parker and son, James Allen. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 am at Myakka State Park.
