Raymond " Ray" G. Gosselin, Jr., 74, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2014. Ray, the oldest of three children, was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on January 29, 1940 to Raymond and Martha Conroy Gosselin. He worked as a supermarket manager for 35 years before retiring and moving to Florida. He operated his own lawn service and transported "Snowbirds" back home after their Florida winters. Ray enjoyed bowling and earned numerous trophies. He was an avid reader, whose favorite authors included James Patterson, Lee Cross, Lisa Jackson and Sue Grafton. By far, his favorite leisure activity was traveling to see his grandbabies. He was an active member of Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church for the past 19 years. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Audry Gosselin, of Port Charlotte, FL, sons; Tom Gosselin, of Monroe, NC, Brian Gosselin, of Manchester, NH, Jeffrey (Arianne) Gosselin, of Hudson, NH, daughters; Deborah Schmidt-Arney, of Punta Gorda, FL, Dorothy (Duane) McNeal, of Currie, NC, Susan Norwood, of Charlotte, NC, Sandra (Chris) Rhodes, of Rocky Point, NC, brother, Bob Gosselin, of Las Cruses, NM, sister, Ann Arsenault, of Salem, NH, stepchildren; Monica (Kenneth) Wolfenbarger, of Cedartown, GA, Angela (Tim) Pitts, of Arcadia, FL, and Dale Dodson, of Port Charlotte, FL. Ray is also survived by his grandchildren; Tiffany Moore, Trevor Gosselin, Tommy Gosselin, Jr., Clive Schmidt, Lantze Schmidt, Elizabeth Gosselin, Hannah Norwood, Anthony Rhodes, Brian Gosselin, Jr., Joshua Gosselin, Connor Gosselin, Ethan Gosselin, Kolbie Gosselin, Brynli Rae Gosselin, Jessie Smith, Dustin Pitts, Michelle Powell, Thomas Casey, David Casey, great grandchildren; Lillian Moore, William Patrick Gosselin, Aidynn Schmidt, Kaelina Schmidt, Andrew Powell, Richard Powell, Elizabeth Powell and one more on the way. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his son in law, Charles F. Arney. Visiting hours will be Friday, June 20, 2014 from 10-11 am at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, FL.
