Jose Medina, 67, of Arcadia, Florida passed away on August 9, 2013 with his family by his side. Jose was born June 4, 1946 in Lagunilla, Mexico and moved to Arcadia in 1977 to begin living the American Dream. He worked for Orange Co. for 35 years, many of those as a crew leader. Jose was a man with a strong work ethic. In his spare time, Jose enjoyed working in the yard, helping with housework and telling jokes. Jose was a very compassionate, gentle hearted man who will be deeply missed. Jose is survived by his loving wife of nearly 41 years, Maria Medina, son, Jose (Maria) Medina, daughters, Anna (Daniel) Cendejas, Maricela Medina, sisters, Alicia Medina, Consuelo Cisneros, Maria Medina, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Federiko and Elvira Maldonado Medina. A visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, from 5:00-8:00 pm. The funeral mass will be at St. Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
