Hardee- Martha S. Douglas, 81, of Zolfo Springs, passed away at home on March 30, 2013. Martha was born in Wauchula, FL and has resided in Hardee County her entire life. She wore many hats during her lifetime, including that of cowgirl, farmer, gardener, Avon representative, cucumber packing house employee and canning plant employee, but that she is most proud of was being wife of 64 years to Glen Douglas and mother to Don, Glenda and the late, Ray Douglas. Martha is survived by her husband, Glen Douglas, son, Don Douglas, daughter, Glenda Douglas, brother, Joe Skitka, all of Zolfo Springs, FL, sister, Jewel Keen, of Wauchula, FL, grandchildren; Timmy Douglas, Brian Douglas, Monica Harper, Billy Douglas, Travis Douglas and 2 great grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; Tedor and Tedora Skitka, son, Ray Douglas, brothers; Steve and Andrew Skitka, sisters; Mary George, Stella Harper, Helen Gaskill, Annie Brown and Shirley "Rose" Johnson. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 a visitation will be held from 2-3 pm at Arcadia Church of God with funeral services beginning at 3:00 pm with Pastor Steve Griffin officiating.
