Evelyn Louise Brantley, age 86, of Arcadia, FL passed away September 5, 2012 in Arcadia, FL. Evelyn was born June 24, 1926 in Hardee Co., FL moving to Nocatee, FL 68 years ago. Evelyn was a high school graduate. She worked for McCroy s Department Store in Arcadia and the G. Pearce Wood Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, and knitting. She was a devoted member of the Nocatee Church of God. She volunteered to help those who was unable to do for themselves. Survivors are her two sons, Jim (Sadie) Brantley, Titusville, FL and Steve (Linda) Brantley, Nocatee, FL and step son Sammie (Verdie) Brantley, Arcadia, FL, ten grandchildren , twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow Brantley, and her parents, Jesse and Leila Mercer Powell. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with funeral services at 11:00AM, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Church of God, Nocatee, FL. Burial will follow in the Owens Cemetery, Arcadia, FL.
