Obituary

John Jake F. Homer, age 72 passed away January 23, 2012 in Cordova, TN. He was born January 21, 1940 in Youngstown, OH and moved to Arcadia 7 years ago from Anchorage, AK. Jake was of the protestant faith and a member of New Hope Christian Church of Arcadia. Jake spent his working career as a pilot for Southwest Airlines, later joining Northwest Arctic Air as a medivac pilot. Jake loved meeting people and living life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling, he and his loving wife Jane traveled to All 50 States and he had the opportunity to also see many other countries in Europe. He was a member of the Royal Order of Moose, Arcadia Lodge. He is survived by his wife Jane Binder-Homer of Arcadia, FL. two sons Hal (Gail) Homer of Anchorage, AK and Ty (Britton) Homer of Columbia, TN; three daughters Christy (Roger) Burke of Gap, PA, Kelly (Jerry) Purcell of Paradise, PA and Brooke (Bill) Momblow of Parker, CO, one sister Gail (Eddie) Fretz of Honey Brook, PA, six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Jake was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Isabelle Holland Homer and a brother Phillip Homer. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Jake s life will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 3:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia with Rev. Don Jackson officiating.
