Gordon J. Willenbring, age 84, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in Arcadia, FL. Gordon was born in St. Cloud, MN December 20, 1928. Gordon and his wife Bernice were winter visitors to Arcadia, FL for more than 20 years. He was an aircraft and Radio technician for the University of Illinois. He enjoyed playing bingo, bridge, traveling, and playing practical jokes on all of his friends. Gordon was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, Champaign, IL and attended St. Paul s Catholic Church in Arcadia, Fl. Survivors are his beloved wife of 58 years, Bernice Willenbring, Champaign, IL, two sons; Frank (Diane) Willenbring, Atlanta, GA, Charles Chuck Willenbring, Ashville, NC, two daughters; Debbie (Andre) Chepan, Elizabeth, NC, Penny (Jeff) Hays, Atlanta, GA, two brothers, Ted (Donna) Willenbring, Minneapolis, MN, Father Mark Willenbring, MN, three sisters; Maryann Stein, St. Cloud, MN, Julia Langer, Minneapolis, MN, and Sister Joyce Willenbring, St. Joseph, MN, eleven grand children, Elizabeth Chepan, Brian Chepan, Kevin Willenbring, Paul Willenbring, Leslie Willenbring, Margo Hays, Mary Hays, Marissa Willenbring, James McCarthy, Joseph Willenbring, and Michael Willenbring. Funeral services and burial will be in Champaign, IL. Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign, IL 217-352-4231 will be in charge.
