Richard Franklin "Dickie" Ellard, age 59, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 in Nocatee, Florida. Dickie was born September 11, 1952 in Arcadia, Florida. Dickie was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and navigating his air boat up and down the Peace River. Dickie was of the Baptist faith. Dickie is survived by his two sons, Ricky Ellard, Jr. and Travis Ellard, both of Arcadia, Florida, two brothers, John (Sharon) Ellard, of Tennessee and George "Lucky" Inman, of Arcadia, three sisters; Dottie (Bruce) Schul, Annette (Bob) Underwood, both of Arcadia and Patsy (Tim) Priest, of Lake Placid, Florida and eight grandchildren. Dickie is also survived by his step father, Jimmie Johnson, of Arcadia. Dickie is preceded in death by his parents, Buck Ellard and Shirley M. Eubanks. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia, Florida.
