Desoto- Frances Lydia Brown, 91, lifelong resident of Desoto County, FL., passed away July 17, 2013 in Port Charlotte, FL. Frances was born February 5, 1922 in Bowling Green, FL and moved to Arcadia in 1942. During her working years, she was employed by Sears, a receptionist for Turner Realty and retired from Desoto Memorial Hospital as a billing clerk. She was a member of the Business and Professional Womens Club and the Elks Lodge. Frances was a member of the Nocatee United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. Frances is survived by her son, Gary (Mary Ellen) Brown, of Arcadia, FL., daughter, Delores (Alfred "Bucky") Neal, of Arcadia, FL., grandchildren, Gary (Marisol) Thompson, of Woodstock, GA., Jill Thompson, of Arcadia, FL., Ben Neal, of Jacksonville, FL., Kaycee (Curt) Mays, of Arcadia, FL., Staci (Donald) DeLuca, of Arcadia, FL., Keri Jo (David) Wharton, of Punta Gorda, FL., Danielle Frederici, of Arcadia, FL., Gary (McKenzie) Brown, Jr., of Carthage, TX. and 13 great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, T.Y. (Edna Sheeley) Witt, husband, Elma Brown, and 8 siblings. Visiting hours will be on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, FL., Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
